Polyethylene Geomembranes Are Used in Landfills

Geomembrane, also referred to as geomembrane, waterproof geomembrane, as a kind of impermeable film, usually made of high density polyethylene and other primary resins. They have excellent impermeability and chemical resistance, can effectively prevent water and other liquids from penetrating into the soil, and protect groundwater and surface water resources.

The main mechanism of geomembrane construction site is to block the water leakage channel of earth dam with impervious plastic film, to withstand the water pressure and adapt to the deformation of dam body with its larger tensile strength and elongation. The non-woven fabric is also a polymer short fiber chemical material.


Why use geomembrane in landfill engineering:

2,HDPE geomembrane has good heat resistance and cold resistance, and its ambient temperature is 110℃ at high

 temperature and -70℃ at low temperature


3, HDPE geomembrane has good chemical stability, can resist strong acid, alkali, oil corrosion, is a good anti-corrosion material.


4, HDPE geomembrane has strong weather resistance, has strong anti-aging properties, can be used for a long time and maintain the original performance.

Landfill often involves leachate containing highly toxic, highly harmful, dangerous and other problems, materials in the project use conditions are extremely complex, it includes force factors, natural factors, media, time and other factors, as well as the superposition of various factors, seepage effect directly determines the quality of the project, geomemofilm service life is the main factor to determine the life of the project. Therefore, the anti-seepage materials used for landfill lining must have good anti-seepage properties, good degradation properties and good oxidation resistance.


The application of geomemofilm in seepage prevention engineering reduces labor cost and material cost. If the construction of landfill projects using concrete, both time and labor costs will be greatly increased.

Hdpe geomembranes have a variety of thickness, so that it can be used for a variety of seepage prevention projects, their surfaces are mostly smooth, there are textured geomembranes on the surface, only suitable for special road conditions.
