How to Lay Bentonite Waterproof Blanket(GCL)
GCL is a kind of impermeable liner. It is called needle-coated sodium-bentonite waterproof blanket. A layer of high density polyethylene geomembrane is composite on the outer surface of non-woven geotextile of needled sodium bentonite waterproof blanket.
GCL is mainly used in environmental engineering waste landfill, underground reservoir, underground infrastructure construction and other projects. Used to solve the problem of sealing, isolation and leakage prevention. It has good effect and strong resistance to destruction.The mineralogical name of bentonite is montmorillonite, and natural bentonite is mainly divided into two categories of sodium base and calcium base according to its chemical composition.
This paper mainly introduces the construction method of bentonite waterproof blanket:
1. Bentonite waterproof blanket material has a large self-weight, it is appropriate to use shovel with waterproof blanket lifting tools to carry and lay.
2. The bentonite waterproof blanket material is connected by lap bonding.
3. When the bentonite waterproof blanket is laid on the slope of more than 10%, the number of lapping along the long direction of the slope should be minimized. The bentonite cushion on the slope must exceed the slope foot line by more than 1500mm.

Any folding, folding, or arching can cause the same to happen to other geomaterials in the soil layer.In order to avoid wrinkles, folds and arches, we will eliminate these problems by either relaying or cutting and repairing the bentonite waterproof blanket according to the requirements of the technical instructions.
7. The equipment of bentonite waterproof blanket must be approved by the supervision engineer before use, and the construction equipment that may damage the bentonite blanket is not allowed to directly act on the bentonite blanket.The feasible laying method is to push the earth backwards and spread out the bentonite blanket at the front of the lifting bulldozer. If the soiler leaves a car mark on the foundation soil, it should be restored before the laying work continues.
8. When laying the bentonite blanket, the dragging of the bentonite blanket on the foundation should be minimized to avoid damage to the contact surface between the bentonite blanket and the ground. If necessary, a temporary layer of geotextile can be added to the ground to reduce the damage caused by friction during the laying of the bentonite blanket.
