Material property

Chemical stability: HDPE geomembrane has better chemical stability and can resist the corrosion of a variety of chemical substances (such as strong acid, strong alkali, grease, etc.). In contrast,

the chemical stability of PVC geomembrane is slightly inferior.

Tear resistance:

PVC geomembrane performs well in terms of tear resistance, but HDPE geomembrane also has a certain tear resistance, and its tensile strength is higher.

Puncture resistance:

HDPE geomembrane has excellent puncture resistance and is more suitable for occasions where it is necessary to withstand certain pressure or puncture by sharp objects.

Weather resistance and UV resistance:

HDPE geomembrane has stronger weather resistance and UV resistance, and can maintain stable performance in long-term outdoor use. PVC geomembrane is relatively weak in

this respect and is more suitable for short-term or temporary use.

Softness and layability: Although the HDPE geomemofilm itself may not be as soft as some other types of polyethylene film (such as LLDPE), in practical applications, its layability is still good. In addition,

HDPE geomembranes have high strength and durability, making the laying process more reliable.

Environmental protection: The materials used in HDPE geomembrane are environmentally friendly materials, which meet environmental protection requirements and are conducive to sustainable development.

Scope of application:

PVC geomembrane: Due to its good welding performance and tear resistance, PVC geomembrane still has certain applications in some specific occasions, such as short-term or temporary engineering

seepage prevention, agricultural irrigation systems, etc. However, it should be noted that its weather resistance and UV resistance are relatively weak, and may not be suitable for

long-term outdoor use.

HDPE geomembrane: Due to its excellent chemical stability, puncture resistance, weather resistance and UV resistance, HDPE geomembrane is widely used in many fields such as environmental

protection, water conservancy, municipal engineering, landscape, petrochemical, mining, transportation facilities and aquaculture industry. Especially in the case of long-term

pressure, piercing by sharp objects or exposure to harsh climatic conditions, HDPE geomembranes are more advantageous.
